Thanks for checking out my site! I really hope you find the content valuable. If you’d like to know a little bit about the guy behind this site, keep reading…
I’m a CPA and Banker 9-5, M-F. I started lifting weights when I was about 13 with the classic juvenile emphasis on big pecs and bi’s! I guess I should’ve taken the hint when my dad (who’s always had huge calves) called me “chicken legs”. It wasn’t until my late 20’s that I stumbled across CrossFit. That was before there was one box within 50 miles. So, I did most of the workouts in my garage, solo (Yikes!).
Well, now I’m in my mid 30’s. And, I’m not a Timex, so I can’t, “Take a Lick’n and Keep on Tick’n”. So, I’ve backed off on the intensity quite a bit. But I still love the principles behind CF and I employ them in my daily routines as often as possible. I always thought your attention span was supposed to increase with age…but that hasn’t happened for me. In fact, it’s been quite the opposite – which is why CF was such a revelation! A different workout every day! Sweet!
So, why a site about the best kicks for CrossFit? Well, like I said, my body’s not as resilient as it used to be. And that includes my feet. With CF they take quite a bit of abuse. There’s a lot of competing information out there about what shoes we should or shouldn’t wear. And folks tend to be given to excess, not moderation. So, if the fad is cushion, everyone’s sporting massive shoes with huge drops. And if the fad is minimalist, you’ve got guys and gals pounding down the sidewalk completely barefoot. My plan is to develop this website into a one-stop resource for all you CrossFitters looking to take care of your wheels.
For some reason I remember my mom telling me that her WWII father was obsessed with taking care of his feet. She thinks he learned it while in the army. When he died in his 60’s she said his feet looked like they belonged to someone in their 20’s. I know that’s weird. But that story sticks with me. I’m no podiatrist, but hopefully this website will save you some time as you research your next pair of CrossFit shoes. I’ll try to put up some other good content too.
Before I forget, I’ve placed some adds and affiliate links on this site. If you click the ads or buy something through my affiliate links you may be helping me defray the cost of our organic grocery bill, which is approaching a 2nd mortgage. No hurt feelings if you don’t. I just didn’t want anyone to think that I was trying to hide the fact that this site might possible make me a couple bucks a month.
